EBSCO Industries, Inc., a global corporation with sales, service and manufacturing facilities in 20 countries, acquired S.S. Nesbitt in the fall of 2001. For more than 60 years, EBSCO's business interests have grown to include journal and periodical subscription management and online research database services, commercial printing, residential and commercial real estate development, as well as manufacturing of looseleaf binder and information packaging products, point-of-purchase displays, hunting and fishing products, among others.

S.S. Nesbitt is an independent insurance agency with multiple locations in Alabama, Georgia and Florida. We provide all lines of insurance with producers specializing in commercial lines, personal lines, employee benefits and life insurance.

LMJ Corporation is Acquired
In August 2006, S.S. Nesbitt acquired LMJ Corporation, expanding our client base and increasing our overall presence in the community. Based on sales volume, the acquisition of LMJ made S.S. Nesbitt one of the top insurance agencies in Birmingham.

S.S. Nesbitt Acquires ANB Insurance Services
As of May 1, 2007, ANB Insurance Services, Inc. (ANBIS) is now part of the S.S. Nesbitt & Co. family. ANBIS is a leading independent insurance agency offering a full line of commercial, personal and employee benefits insurance products.
